Dodd Elementary School is located in the Allentown School District. This is an elementary school with very low government funding and no corporate funding. Dodd ranks in the lowest 12% of schools state-wide. There are 633 students at the school, and everyone qualifies for free lunches. The average standardized test score in 2018 was 34/100. These results are largely because the kids skip testing, so results become lower. This year, Hands in Service was able to donate 19 bikes to use as incentives for the kids. The kids could earn chances to win these bikes through arriving on time, being behaved in the classroom, completing the full test, or being kind and encouraging to their other classmates. Dodd gave out 2 bikes a day while the tests were being done.
Hands in Service plans on continuing to donate whatever supplies may be needed with no administrative fee. Products needed are clothing, toys, and shelving units. We are hoping to raise support to help cover these fees. We have currently donated 10 pallets, which comes to $1,250. See below to donate.
