Sending needed items throughout the different stages of recovery:
- In the early stages of disaster relief efforts, we partner with relief agencies on the ground and connected to the community. For several weeks throughout the recovery period, we collect and ship only items identified as essential at the time they are requested. This prevents overloading relief centers with items not needed at that time.
Organizing and sending recovery teams:
- Once a plan for clean up and recovery has been established, we will determine if a team of volunteers should be organized and sent into the area. When teams are sent we work under other organizations already established in the community with a plan that we find effective and compassionate.
