Recent Trip Details:
February 2026
Our team of 12 American volunteers and many Dominican team members served together to share the gospel, provide free, basic medical care and medications, administer vaccines and provide physical therapy in four sugar cane communities in LaRomana, DR. The workers and their families that live in the sugar cane fields are economically disadvantaged, but hard-working Haitian immigrants.
As always, we serve alongside Pastor Isidro Mejia and the congregation of Iglesia Casa de Resturacion, our church family in the Dominican Republic.

Pharmacy and clinic overview
Foreground: John Meilahn MD and Leyde Inirio filled prescriptions for patients. Billie Jauss, who was visiting Pastor Isidro joined our team for a couple of days to distribute vitamins and deworming medications. The patients come through the clinic and stop at different stations and waiting areas along the way.
Hands in Service plans to send medical teams to the Dominican Republic in January, April and November of 2027. If you feel called to join one of our teams, please email [email protected] and we'll add you to our newsletter distribution list. Dates for teams are usually announced six to eight months in advance of travel. There are mandatory pre-trip meetings and each team member contributes to the cost of the mission trip.
